What is L-M-6 Movie Rating?
L-M-6 is the sixth module in our series of advancements at Lowerated. Each module has brought us closer to creating a reliable and comprehensive film rating system. L-M-6 is designed to evaluate films based on seven key aspects:
The Big 7:
Cinematography: Visual storytelling through camera work and lighting.
Direction: The creative and managerial process guiding the film's artistic and dramatic aspects.
Story: The narrative and plot that drive the film's events.
Unique Concept: The originality and novelty of the film's idea or theme.
Production Design: The visual look of the film, including sets, locations, props, and costumes.
Characters: The portrayal and development of individuals in the film.
Emotions: The emotional impact and connection the film creates with its audience.
How Does L-M-6 Movie Rating Work?
1. Data Collection:
L-M-6 starts with the IMDB dataset that includes detailed reviews and ratings for many films. This dataset is continuously updated to ensure that our algorithm reflects the latest trends and viewer opinions. Our datasets are available on Hugging Face for community use and feedback.
2. Analysis:
Using natural language processing (NLP) techniques, L-M-6 analyzes reviews to extract sentiments and insights related to each of the seven key aspects. This helps the algorithm understand a film’s strengths and weaknesses.
3. Scoring:
L-M-6 uses a rolling mean approach to update film scores dynamically. As new reviews come in, the algorithm recalculates scores to reflect the most current audience opinions. This ensures our ratings stay relevant and accurate over time.

The survey helps in ranking the importance of seven key aspects of filmmaking: cinematography, direction, story, unique concept, production design, characters, and emotions. Participants rate each aspect based on their significance, providing valuable data that will be used to assign weights to these aspects in Lowerated's AI algorithm, enhancing the accuracy and relevance of the movie rating system.
